How We Got Here
From a whiteboard in Dubai to a live platform — the milestones that shaped Lodfy.
Breaking point in Dubai
After a string of near-misses — fake SGS reports, counterparties that vanished post-deposit, proof-of-funds documents that traced back to empty shells — the founding team sat down and mapped out what a real trust layer for commodity trading would look like. No brokers. No opacity. Just verifiable facts.
Prototype with real traders
The first version was tested with a closed group of traders across crude oil, agricultural commodities, and metals. The feedback was unanimous: verification mattered, but only if it was rigorous. We rebuilt the KYB process from scratch using compliance standards drawn from financial services and trade finance.
Lodfy goes live
The platform launched publicly with verified buyer and seller profiles, structured deal management, milestone-protected payments, and real-time sanctions screening. The mission: make the first question in any commodity deal — "can I trust this counterparty?" — answerable in minutes, not weeks.
What We Stand For
Three principles that guide every product decision we make.
Trust over speed
The commodity industry rewards fast movers. But fast and unverified is how fraud happens. We slow down the onboarding process so every deal can move quickly and safely.
Transparency over opacity
Shell companies, anonymous brokers, and unverifiable documentation are the raw material of commodity fraud. Lodfy makes beneficial ownership, document provenance, and sanctions status visible by default.
Prevention over reaction
Once $10M is wired to the wrong account, no dispute resolution process makes you whole. We built our platform to surface red flags before the first dollar moves — not after.
The Team
A small, focused team of commodity traders, compliance professionals, and engineers — based in Dubai. We have operated across crude oil, agricultural commodities, metals, and petrochemicals. We have been on the losing end of deals that should never have happened.
We don't list names. We let the platform speak.
